The Spotlight

Great performances in April

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

Wow, what an exciting pair of April weekends we have just had at the Fox.  “Two on Tap” the final concert for McCook Concert Association was a lively evening with Melissa Giattino and Ron DeStefano.  Pairing great singing voices with fast moving rhythms in their feet, this couple and their accompanist gave us a great evening of entertainment.  The audience was all smiles as they left the show.  Then on Sunday, the Oberlin Area Concert Band gave us a very nice afternoon of great music.  What a talented group of musicians.  Director Neal Russell is a very talented conductor and the combination proved to be a wonderful afternoon of musical enjoyment.  Donations from generous concert attendees are going to help finance the remaining renovation projects that still need to be completed at the Fox.

This past Sunday, April 14th we were entertained by the Nebraska Pride Chorus of Sweet Adelines International.  Their “fractured fairy tale” show was complete with fairy godmother, a corn wagon in place of a carriage, and a cow to pull it.  It was great fun and I hope that you were with us to enjoy it.

The NEW Fox Theatre Website

Friday, January 04, 2013

Hi there!

I'm Charles Coleman and I currently serve as manager of the Fox Theatre on a volunteer basis. In fact everyone working for the Fox at this time is a volunteer. I am very excited about the launching of our new website created by McBeezWeb of McCook. It is nice to have this updated, interactive site online to go along with all of our other updating and renovation projects at the Fox Theatre. While we are nearing the completion of this phase of the renovation project, there are still more projects that need to be completed to make the facility an entirely updated facility. All of these improvements have been made possible because we have had great support from many people and organizations. It is truly a community based project that garners support from a wide area.

I hope that you will continue your support by attending Fox events, making cash donations, and even volunteering some time for the Fox effort. In the future we hope to publish a wish list of needs to make it possible for you to consider a specific donation if you choose to do so. It is our hope that you will find this site a useful resource for learning how you can make the Fox Theatre work for you, for organizations that you may belong, or as an educational, business, or entertainment resource.

Thanks,

Charles Coleman
