Fox Open for Tours - Saturday Afternoon

The historic Fox Theatre in downtown McCook will be open for tours Saturday afternoon, September 27th, 2008 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

"We invite Heritage Days guests to stop by and see the progress being made at the theatre," said Gene O. Morris, the theatre's executive director.

The renovation project began with new dressing rooms, which are being constructed in the area beneath the stage. New walls are in place, bright lighting has been installed and floors have been painted.

"Much more needs to be done, but the project is moving forward thanks to generous public support," Morris said.

Two events are planned at the Fox during Heritage week. Thursday evening, beginning at 7, the Community Hospital 55 Plus group will present a program called "Challenges, Changes & Chuckles."

Then, Saturday night at 7:30, the McCook High School Varsity Choir will join alumni singers at the Fox for a program called "Big Apple Revue." Free will donations will be accepted at the event to help with the Fox renovation and the MHS Choir's trip to New York City in May of 2009.
